Take the Master Scuba Diver challenge!

The Master Scuba Diver Rating is the highest qualification for a leisure scuba diver (non professional) in the PADI system. It is a great achievement and shows that you have a broad and deep range of diving knowledge and experience. It is sometimes, with good reason, referred to as the “Black belt” of leisure scuba diving. It is awarded to divers who have reached the level of Rescue Diver and who have completed five specialties. There are many advantages in gaining this rating, including big increases in confidence of much more coaching from a good instructor. Your passion and commitment as a diver will also naturally increase as you learn much more about five facets of diving that really interest you. As a reminder, you may be able to get credit for any Adventure dive to count as the first dive of any given specialty, making pursuit of your goal more affordable. We also do combined deals for two specialties at once, making things cheaper financially. Please ask for further details.

Deep Diver

That wreck/stunning pinnacle/awesome vertical drop off lies between 32 and 40m deep. All of the more experienced divers in the club keep talking about this brilliant dive site and you can’t do it as an AOWD. Fear not, there is a solution! Four dives aimed at acclimatising you to diving between 30 and 40 metres, you need to be a PADI Adventure diver to enroll. You will encounter and learn the skills, knowledge, and enjoyment of diving beyond the 30 metres accessible as an AOWD.

Dry Suit Diver

Don’t like the cold?! Doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy your diving all year round. Dry suits, correctly used, keep you warn and toasty no matter the weather. As a leading UK manufacturer marks on the inside of its suits, “Diving is to be enjoyed, not endured”. The course comprises two dives aimed at a thorough familiarisation and introduction to the safety, specific techniques and maintenance required of dry suit diving, prefaced by a confined water training session. Not recommended for the high season!

Underwater or Digital Underwater Photographer

This is great introduction to the unique challenges and rewards of underwater photography. This course will save you much money and frustration on wasted development and film costs and/or the frustration of endless average results with a digital camera. It may even save you the cost of a camera! You will learn about composition, correct positioning, aperture and shutter speed, parallax and white balancing and correct camera preparation, protection and post-dive care. The end result being a fast-tracked improvement in the quality of shots you capture.

Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

Learn the theory and practice of diving with Enriched Air or Nitrox (more Oxygen, less Nitrogen). The practical and tangible benefits of diving with Nitrox include increased safety margins when pushing air limits, less fatigue, more time underwater before incurring compulsory safety stops and much longer allowable bottom time on repetitive dives (thus great for live-aboard diving). Four very good reasons to seriously consider Nitrox training, apart from the fact that once in the water, you are to all intents and purposes just going on a fun dive. The theory important in this course and is assessed via an exam. eLearning is available for this course in English.

Wreck Diver

We offer this course by request and special arrangement. For those drawn by the mystique and unique interests of wreck diving this course offers a sound introduction to the specific techniques and knowledge every budding wreck diver should be familiar with. And boy do we have some good wrecks on the Cote d’Azur!

We also offer Peak Performance Buoyancy and Project Aware specialities. Please ask for further details.
